이번 글에는 조금 까다로운 표현들이 있는데요

예를 들어 한국말로 '청원을 넣다'를 영어로 바꾼다고 생각할 때

'넣다'는 어떻게 표현하지? 라고 고민하는 분들이 많습니다.

 

청원을 넣는다는 것은 결국 어떠한 문제에 대해 불만사항을 제기한다는

표현이기 때문에 영어로는 file a petition으로 file이라는 동사를 써주시면 됩니다.

 

한국어 고유 표현 중에 '이목을 끌다, 경종을 울리다' 라는 표현들이 있는데요

영어로는 어떻게 표현하면 될까요?

 

'끌다/울리다'라는 동사에 집중하기 보다는 한국어가 전달하는 

고유의 의미를 생각해 보면 좋습니다.

 

이목을 끄는 것은 be in the spotlight으로

경종을 울리다는 sound an alarm으로 표현해주면 좋습니다.
